Jispa – a place in the lap of nature

Jispa is a beautiful village in Lahaul district of Indian state of Himachal Pradesh along Bhaga river. It is located on the way at Manali-Leh highway. It is standing at a height of 10,500 feet above sea level. This little and calm village gives habitat to only 78 households which make people feel relaxed and help them to escape from the noisy crowded city life.

Usually this place is famous for the travelers to breakdown their journey and stay for a night here for the acclimatization. But after opening of the Atal tunnel now Jispa is not not just a resting spot but becomes a destination in itself.

We suggest you to pay a visit to Jispa and stay at night to listen to the struggling silver water of Bhaga river, waking up with the songs of birds and facing the long row to mountains as you open your eyes.

Jispa is decorated with many unique features such as it own a helipad, a monastery, a small folk museum and a campground. Few years ago, there was only two hotel Ibex and Padma Lodge here. But now you can find lots of stay options from from hotels to camps.

Where is Jispa?

It lies on the Manali–Leh Highway, about 135 km from Manali and 340 km from Leh, making it a popular stop for travelers heading to Ladakh.

It lies just north of Darcha, the last major settlement before the steep climb toward the high mountain passes of Sarchu, Baralacha La and beyond.
